Direct logins can be created in ACA Reporter for clients that do not have the option for Single Sign-On (SSO). Clients using select data connections between payroll providers and Points North will need to create user accounts from their payroll provider to enable Single Sign-On (SSO).

Creating a New User
- From the ACA Reporter menu bar, select Admin, then select Manage Users.
- Select Add New User.
- Add required fields with an asterisk *.
- The Login Name is the user’s email address.
- The initial Password can only be used for the first login, and the user will be prompted to change it.
- Under Benefits Security, select the user’s role.
- Global: access to all organizations; used for Points North employees.
- Partner: access to assigned partner organizations; used for our reseller and partner accounts.
- Organization: access to the organization and all its locations; commonly used for the primary user.
- Employer: access to the locations assigned to this user.
- Adjust the settings accordingly.
- You may select allow all for all settings, unless otherwise decided.
- If creating an Employer account, select the locations you would like this user to have access to and click the right pointing arrow to move the locations over to the box on the right.
- Collections Security is only used for locations that utilize our Who’s Where collection feature.
- Select Create User
- This will prompt the system to send an email to the created user. This email will include a link to ACA Reporter and the temporary password.
- Once the new user logs in for the first time, they will be automatically prompted to update their password.
Copying an Existing User’s Settings
If you are creating a new user that will have the same settings as an existing user, you can utilize the copy function to copy the user’s settings.
- Launch ACA Reporter and select the organization you would like to add the user to.
- Navigate to Admin >> Manage Users
- Select Copy next to the existing user’s name.
- Fill out the required user information.
- The settings will mirror the existing user’s settings.
- Select Create User
